Although it is not common, it is possible to see women in their bare feet at grocery stores, drug stores and discount stores.  One of the best encounters I ever had was with two girls shopping for greeting cards in a discount store.

The grocery/discount store situation is a unique one...

Like the situation with shopping centers in general, women who are seen barefoot at these kinds of stores tend to be real barefoot girls - either Occasional Barefoot Girls or The Pure Form.  They intentionally left their house in their bare feet to go shopping at that store.

Because more and more of these stores are appearing in large shopping areas, however, it is also becoming more likely that you will run across an Accidental Barefoot Girl.  If the grocery store is across the street from the mall, and she's been shopping all day and has taken her uncomfortable shoes off, she may just leave them in the car when she runs in for the candy bar or the box of spaghetti.

Location, Location, Location

As much as I hate to say it, there does appear to be a geographical factor in how often girls appear barefoot at these stores.  In some areas I could go months without seeing any, and in others it is almost consistent.

The interesting thing is that this geographical distinction is apparently not regional.  It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the weather or climate.  It just seems that, in some communities, people tend to go barefoot more.

On the "Where to find barefoot girls specifically" page, I intend to shed some light on this perplexing issue, but for now just know that, wherever you are in the world, seeing a woman barefoot at the grocery store is a real possibility.  And the less likely that is to happen in your area, the more likely it is that you have discovered The Pure Form when it does.  :-)
